TTS FM Mobile Supervisor Peter Birds quick thinking when out on his Mobile Patrol around the South Tyneside Council Patrol Route, observed a male in distress lying on the pavement outside the Town Hall and in need of help in early July 2019.

Peter stopped his vehicle and went to the man’s aid.The man was clearly intoxicated and immobile and Peter decided he needed urgent help and making an emrgency 999 call, Peter gave the man immediate First Aid and stayed with him until the Ambulance arrived,  the man was then taken away to the nearby hospital. Peter’s quick thinking and natural instinct to help, I believe saved the man from possible injury or maybe worse. Peter has been awarde out TTS FM Shining Star Award plus a cash gift voucher for his gallant actions.
